I wrote this almost 3 years ago about a muse. How time flies.
Stupid Star
I see you twinkle
You see me sparkle
Two stars, two different constellations
Embroidered on one vast tapestry of sky
Though we be but pinpoints
Together we illumine space
Constantly pretty, celestially fine
As scattered diamonds we dress the night
Fixed where I am
I wander still
Off into dreams of us side by side
Yet know we do not light the same picture
How would it be?
I think alone
If the difference of our heavenly coordinates
Should cease in number between us and bring us closer
I begin to dim
As reality looms over fantasy
In my senseless wandering should a black hole find me
Would the heavens lessen in majesty short of one?
My constellation
Would fail to be
To forget who I am is galactic stupidity
So I am content sharing the universe with you
